I sent my grandchildren Valentine’s through the post this year. I remember the thrill of getting something addressed just to me when I was a child and I want them to share that feeling, too.

Please send me your name and address so I can get your ceramic heart necklace mailed.

Thank you, everyone, for leaving a comment. I enjoyed reading whether or not you still send Valentine cards through the mail. I am half and half. Some years, I buy up a bunch of greeting cards. Nowadays, from the Dollar Store. I still enjoy jotting off a note or two. But sometimes when time is short, I have been known to send off an e-card. Either way lets your loved ones know that you are thinking of them.

Hope you had a great Valentine’s Day.

And The Winner Of My Guessing Game Is… Carol

Wow!! So close, almost right on the nose.

487 popped in my mind so that’s my guess.

Carol guessed that I sewed/quilted 487 items in 2012. The number was actually 491 which included 168 charity pillowcases. I documented everything I made so all I had to do was flip back through my journal pages.

Congrats, Carol. Send me your address so I can mail you one of my handcrafted items.

Thanks everyone for playing my Guessing Game. You are the best!!

“Made In 2012” Contest And Giveaway

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. Carol is the WINNER. THANKS, EVERYONE, FOR ENTERING.

Hi everyone, this month is flying by so fast, I thought I had better get my Made In 2012 Guessing Game posted before February gets here.

Can you guess how productive I was last year?

I made quite a few items. Mostly small things and just a few quilts. And let’s not forget my pillowcases.

Here are a few of the things I made. (Click on photo to enlarge.)

So.. counting everything, even the UFO’s, can you guess how many sewing and quilting items I made in 2012?

The 1st person to guess correctly (or come closest without going over) wins a prize. I will select one of my handcrafted items and mail it off to you. Everyone welcome. I will ship international.

You have until Wednesday, Jan 23, midnight EST to enter a guess.

Post your answer in comments. Good Luck!!

LET THE GUESSING BEGIN!!!

Tip: To get you started, you already know that I made 168 charity pillowcases. 😀

I am going to say you cut a total of 857.

Congrats, Fran, please send me your name and address so I can get something pretty mailed off to you.

And a special thank you to everyone who left a comment. I enjoyed reading each one.

Many of you commented you wanted to see what I was making. I am making a quilt called Hugs and Kisses. I saw it at Little Miss Shabby’s site (link at bottom of post) and really loved it. It seemed easy enough for me to make. Scraps I have. Tons of them. This quilt is tailor-made for me.

So far I have 40 blocks finished. Can you see the X’s and O’s? 😀

Each block measures 5″ square. I will probably make 100 more. As I finish more blocks, I will rearrange them to mix the colors up well. And I’ll do a post in a couple days so you can see how I am making mine. I am doing two things different from the tutorial.

Hopefully mine will be as pretty as hers.

Go here for Little Miss Shabby’s tutorial. (Hope it’s OK. I borrowed this photo from her site.)

LOVE Is In The Air

What to do? What to make?

Hmmm. Hearts and Tubes. From Crystal’s shop. BeadHappilyEverAfter. So pretty.

But what to turn them into? As usual, I am late to the party. Only six days until I have to submit a photo of my creation. Now I have to get busy. Oh, I have been thinking about designs. For several weeks. But now, thinking time is over. Fingers must move and get to creating.

I will probably make a bracelet. Sure. That’s what I will make.

Yep. The hearts and tubes will be a bracelet!!

More details and photos in a few days.

Hop on over to Crystal’s site to see what her challenge is all about.
