OK, Switching To Squares Now

Thought you might be tired of me showing you my round Quilted Stars. 😀

How about a SQUARE one?

Not sure it is “full” enough. I may add more triangles. But this is how it looks so far. The only difference in making a square star is the way the four corner squares are folded.

Fabric colors are burgundy, wine gingham, beige/wine floral and dark green.

I may swap out the green with wine and have green for the last round. (I know, here we go again. LOL!!)

This is the only thing I could find that measured 8″ by 8″. A ceramic tile.

A ceramic tile that came unglued in a really cute wooden trivet. I am too lazy to glue it back. Works great here, eh, for me to trace around it with my marking pencil? I told hubby I hope I don’t break it while it doubles as a measuring tool.

My 2nd Quilted Star is Finished

Yay!! No. 2 is finished.

This is the back. And I have a bunch more lined up to finish or to begin. I have gone Star Crazy!!

This next one just needs to be sewn to the white inside lining. (I am doing this one a bit different than the others.) And I may reverse the last two rounds. I think I like the dark navy for the last round. In fact I cut them as 6″ squares and they were SUPPOSED to be the last round. I goofed.

This one needs to be sewn and the edging added. I bought these fabric squares (in the last round) on eBay a couple years ago. Look really close at the layout. Anything pop out at you? They are the same fabric patterns but in different colors. Directly across from the other. How cool is that!! I was really lucky to find these eight in the bunch.

Here’s more fabric. Just waiting their turn. Wanna-Be Stars.

And I have an idea for a Barbie star using royal, pink and yellow Barbie fabric. Or I may make it as a little quilt for a Barbie doll. Ideas, ideas. Always thinking.

Who knows how many I will have when I finally tire of making them. 😀

Finally Gonna Learn To Quilt, Yay!!

The new year is here. Time to start fresh. Time to think of new things to do and try.

For me, it will be doing something I have never done before. Quilting. This month I will be wayyyyy out of my comfort zone.

Quilting? Yep. Quilting.

Well, not the quilting you may be thinking about. Not a quilt for a bed. Not even a mini quilt for around the knees. But quilting just the same.

This is what I will attempt to make this month. A Folded Star.

I can usually visualize coordinating colors with my jewelry but with fabrics I wasn’t so sure. I “think” these will go well together. Think. Not 100% confident. Going to try it anyway with a Valentine’s Day theme. With pink, black and brown and a bit of red.

And this one could be the backside.

What can happen? I’ll hate it. Or I’ll love it. We shall see.

So.. stick around. You wouldn’t want to miss my 1st Quilted Item, would you!!
