All weekend was spent with my rotary cutter glued to my right hand. Standing over my cutting table. Shifting from my right foot to my left foot. Sighing about every hour. 😀 I even missed a couple of meals. I wanted to get my squares cut and over with.

You see, I saw this quilt on the net that I love and want to make. It takes 2 1/2″ and 5″ scrappy squares. Plus 3″ white squares which I cut from my stash. The scrappy squares took forever. I AGAIN went through all of my scraps.

This is what I ended up with.

Guess the total number of 2 1/2″ and 5″ squares I cut, without going over.. and I will mail you one of my handcrafted items. I will select something pretty for you.

So.. let the guessing begin.

Leave your guess in comments. Guesses submitted via e-mail will not count. Must be posted here on this post. You have between now and Thursday, August 23 midnight EST to enter. Good luck and thanks for entering my contest.

I am guessing 483. Wow, you were very busy. I am getting ready to start cutting my pieces for the Groovy quilt-a-long and I decided to make the queen size for my bed. I think I will have like 1200 pieces when I am done.

  2. WOW! You’re a trooper! And I do love the fabrics you chose! 🙂

O Man!! I can’t wait to see what pattern this quilt IS! I’m taking a guess at 1000 because I want to play, but don’t count me ’cause I got zippers in that draw. Bet it took longer to go through the scraps than it did to cut them!

    419 is my guess.

I see a piece of fabric in that fourth photo that was leftovers from when I made my purse! hehe

    Hi Donna

Thanks so very much. I did find a “bag” at a garage sale for my friend. It was at a very good price. $2.00. She was so ver-r-r-y happy. I am guessing you must have cut at least 1,633. Have fun.

    689?

  23. Crystal says:

How many squares? I just haven’t a clue – never have been good at determining how many jelly beans, marbles, etc. are in the jar.
But I LOVE the variety of fabrics you are using, and the fact that so many shades and tones of the colors are represented. It should make a very beautiful result! 🙂

  24. Fran says:

I am going to say you cut a total of 857.

  25. Lennette says:

I love your fabric choices Donna!!! I’m going to guess 529 squares!
