Isn’t This Clasp Perfect!!

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Found these in my Clasps organizer. Been in there a couple years. Silver with tiny topaz Swarovski crystals. They are magnetic and fold over.

Perfect for my tubular herringbone bracelets.

Thought I would work again with my bronze and topaz beads. Still some left. And added some silver silver-lined ones to the mix. All 8/0 seed beads. My favorite size beads to work with.

I like how the clasp end fits inside the tube.

This came out SO GREAT!! I want to make more!! (I have 2 more clasps like this.)

These photos are of the same bracelet. Different views.

Here’s a sneak peek of what I am working on next. I am calling this BowTye. An original design by yours truly.

Thanks, everyone, for participating!!

Meet The Herringbone Family

Couldn’t just make bracelets. How naked would the rest of the body be!! So I made a necklace and earrings.

Here they are……

Necklace and Open Triangle Embellishment

Worn simple without.

Or dramatic with.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Necklace doubles as a triple wrap bracelet.

This is a close-up of the open triangle. (It’s made using peyote stitch.) I added a 6 bead fringe all around it using 11/0 seed beads. It fits over the green button closure.

Can be worn with this bracelet.

And I made a pair of peyote earrings. (Maybe I will make some herringbone earrings.)

Took more photos of the bracelets. I think these are better.

And one last photo. The whole set.

Day 2: Tubular Herringbone Bracelet, A and B

Now there’s an A and a B bracelet.

I was tickled to finally learn the Tubular Herringbone stitch. And as I mentioned yesterday, it’s an easy stitch to learn. So I wasn’t even disappointed that I had to ditch the first bracelet and start on a second one.

As I was adding the loop clasp part, I realized the color placement was all wrong. The green beaded toggle bar would be on the “purple” end. 😦 I didn’t want to pull out all that Fireline. So I just started from scratch.

This time I plotted out exactly where each color would go. The toggle bar will be green. Just need to decide on which color beads for the toggle loop. Crystal or green.

I have an idea on what to do with the mini triangles. Have to try it and see.

Be back tomorrow with Day 3.

Ruffles and Pearls Cuff Bracelet

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

For some reason, my latest designs have been taking not just hours, but DAYS. And it is not even like I am switching from project to project due to boredom. Like I used to do. I am actually working on the same piece. Hours here, hours there.

Sometimes I am tempted to start on something equally delicious. I think about my next design and assorted color combos. But… I keep going.

Just finished this bracelet I am calling Ruffles and Pearls. My original design.

I started off with triangles. YIKES!! I am still stuck on triangles. 😀

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

The plan was to make two, stitch them up and add a cute little triangle clasp. But the triangles only measured 5″.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

So…. I ended up with two partial triangles and a hexagon in the middle. Trying to make it longer. (You can see that cute little triangle clasp in this photo. It didn’t work. Too tiny.)

This is the plain version.

Here is the Ruffles (fringe) and Pearls version.

Around the wrist.

The backside. I love this view. Looks like an apron tied from the back.

And this is how it WOULD have looked.

With black roses. I was going to do a black beaded toggle bar to bring in the black.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

With large silver buttons. I really liked this look and would have gone with it had I had a 3rd button. I wanted one for the clasp closure. But only had the 2.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Even thought of using this burgundy Jasper gemstone. Wouldn’t this stone be pretty as a cabochon?

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

But my creative vision kept searching for the “right” look. And I found what I was looking for right there in my stash.

Question for you…

Would you have used any of the unused ideas?

Donuts and Root Beer

Ha!! Bet you thought this post was about food. Or maybe a Halloween beverage?

Nope.

The donuts are acrylic. And root beer is a color.

As in…….

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I bought the acrylic donuts at Auntie’s Beads back in July. I didn’t have any ideas. I liked the colors AND they were on sale. Always a plus.

The seed beads I have had for several years. The reason you see them in so many of my designs is because silly me bought too many.

I used up about a tablespoon making this bracelet. But mainly I used bronze. 8/0 seed beads.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

You are looking at 4 days work. On and off. Changing my mind every few hours.

Here’s me starting off. The seed beads in this photo didn’t make the cut.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Switched to bronze and root beer. Looks like two triangles, huh?

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Nope. Four.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

And finished…. (The Swarovski pearls didn’t make it. Maybe my next design.)

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

That should be The End, right?

But then I decided to make something I don’t usually make. A pendant. A matching donut pendant.

Worn with the acrylic donut down.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Or up.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

And the set.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Didn’t make any earrings yet. Might be too much bronze.

What do you think?

Earrings: Yes or No

Red, Black and White Double Triangle Cuff Bracelet

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Finished this last week. Sorry for taking so long to show you. My first photos weren’t that great so I retook them.

This is another one of my creations using open triangles.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I like making triangles.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Think I will make another one in different colors. Maybe not as wide as this one.

More Photos From My Readers

I love seeing what YOU are making using something you read or saw here on my blog. Makes my day!!

This is from Lynne. A chocolate flat spiral stitch bracelet. Very pretty. And look at those earrings. Wow!!

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

She is working on more flat spiral bracelets and one with triangles. Can’t wait to see.

These next two are from Debra. Aren’t they great!! Flat spiral stitch.

I like her color choices and the larger beads she used for the core. (I’ll have to try that.) She is currently working on a bracelet using mostly crystals. Hope she shares a picture when finished.

And look at this photo from Mary Lou, one of the winners for my Display Table contest. She won $25 in craft supplies. Shown below.

Look at all that stuff. Looks like way more than $25!! (Once I got started packing, I couldn’t help myself. 😀 )

Well… that’s it for today. Thanks everyone for sharing your work and your photos. I will add the bracelet photos to my You Made It Gallery.
