AmandaJean over at Crazy Mom Quilts is having a Small Projects Sew Along for this month. http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2012/05/small-projects-sew-along.html
I thought, hey, that’s what I want to do too, for this month!!. Just hadn’t made a list. Didn’t want to write anything down. Didn’t want the stress of trying to complete everything on the list.
After all, MAY is supposed to be my ME Month. No pressure. No commitments. No swaps. No NEW sign-ups. I do have three things I committed to last month that I want to honor. A beading challenge over at BeadHappilyEverAfter and two sewing projects for charity.
Here is my list of small projects. But I did them as Will Do and Want To Do.
WILL DO
- Download embroidery designs from my PC to sewing machine
- Embroider one design, maybe two
- Faux Chenille baby quilt (doll quilt made)
- One handbag with grommets (done)
- Needle Felting, start one project (done)
- Work on Umbrella quilt (2 blocks completed)
- Make more zippered bags (done)
WANT TO DO
- Finish 4th of July Table Runner – Disappearing 9 Patch (finished)
- Make pincushion inspired by coffee mug (finished)
- Work on Game Boards for Family Reunion
- Work on black/white/red Postage Stamp Quilt (2nd panel finished)
- Finish Attic Window Bird Cage pillow
I will cross off items as I complete them. IF I complete them. NO stress. NO pressure. Just fun while creating.

Hi Donna,
Glad to hear you are not scheduling too many “have-tos”! And also glad that your “will-dos” include my bead challenge! lol It wouldn’t be the same without you, you know.
I really like the green/coral pieced strips above!!! Now that’s the shade of coral I know and love!
And gorgeous match-up with the mug and fabrics (as usual!)
Hi Crystal, thanks much!!
I finished a handbag in the colors I told you about. I started it before making that list. So I won’t even have the satisfaction of crossing it off.
I doubt I will finish half of my Will Do List. Too excited making handbags.
And guess what I worked on for 3 hours today. Yep, your bead challenge project. I think I know where I am going with my idea. Tested it out on practice wire. Now I need to cut the real stuff and get busy. Only a few more days until I have to submit my entry. Yippee!!
Looks like it’s going to be a busy month for you! Have fun, Donna!
Thanks, Nicole. Yep, I am. And yesterday I spent most of the day working on something not even on my list. Beading. But I am having fun designing and creating. I miss working with my little beads. But I love sewing/quilting too. So many crafts… not enough hands or time.
