Isn’t This Clasp Perfect!!

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Found these in my Clasps organizer. Been in there a couple years. Silver with tiny topaz Swarovski crystals. They are magnetic and fold over.

Perfect for my tubular herringbone bracelets.

Thought I would work again with my bronze and topaz beads. Still some left. And added some silver silver-lined ones to the mix. All 8/0 seed beads. My favorite size beads to work with.

I like how the clasp end fits inside the tube.

This came out SO GREAT!! I want to make more!! (I have 2 more clasps like this.)

Well, back to the grind.

What are YOU working on?

Contest Prize Is On The Way

Just an update on the contest prize.

I mailed the Halloween necklace this morning USPS Priority Mail. Supposed to take 2-3 days.

Lillian, let me know when it arrives. And if you could take a picture of you wearing it, that would be fantastic. I’ll post it on my blog.

Thanks again to all who participated. I like giveaways and plan a couple more before this year ends. Who knows. Maybe one of my newest bracelets will be the prize.

Stay tuned.

And The Halloween Necklace Goes To…

Meet The Herringbone Family

Couldn’t just make bracelets. How naked would the rest of the body be!! So I made a necklace and earrings.

Here they are……

Necklace and Open Triangle Embellishment

Worn simple without.

Or dramatic with.

Necklace doubles as a triple wrap bracelet.

This is a close-up of the open triangle. (It’s made using peyote stitch.) I added a 6 bead fringe all around it using 11/0 seed beads. It fits over the green button closure.

Can be worn with this bracelet.

And I made a pair of peyote earrings. (Maybe I will make some herringbone earrings.)

Took more photos of the bracelets. I think these are better.

What are you waiting for!! :D

Good Luck.

Day 2: Tubular Herringbone Bracelet, A and B

Now there’s an A and a B bracelet.

I was tickled to finally learn the Tubular Herringbone stitch. And as I mentioned yesterday, it’s an easy stitch to learn. So I wasn’t even disappointed that I had to ditch the first bracelet and start on a second one.

As I was adding the loop clasp part, I realized the color placement was all wrong. The green beaded toggle bar would be on the “purple” end. :( I didn’t want to pull out all that Fireline. So I just started from scratch.

This time I plotted out exactly where each color would go. The toggle bar will be green. Just need to decide on which color beads for the toggle loop. Crystal or green.

I have an idea on what to do with the mini triangles. Have to try it and see.

Ruffles and Pearls Cuff Bracelet

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

For some reason, my latest designs have been taking not just hours, but DAYS. And it is not even like I am switching from project to project due to boredom. Like I used to do. I am actually working on the same piece. Hours here, hours there.

Sometimes I am tempted to start on something equally delicious. I think about my next design and assorted color combos. But… I keep going.

Just finished this bracelet I am calling Ruffles and Pearls. My original design.

I started off with triangles. YIKES!! I am still stuck on triangles. :D

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

The plan was to make two, stitch them up and add a cute little triangle clasp. But the triangles only measured 5″.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

So…. I ended up with two partial triangles and a hexagon in the middle. Trying to make it longer. (You can see that cute little triangle clasp in this photo. It didn’t work. Too tiny.)

This is the plain version.

Here is the Ruffles (fringe) and Pearls version.

The backside. I love this view. Looks like an apron tied from the back.

And this is how it WOULD have looked.

With black roses. I was going to do a black beaded toggle bar to bring in the black.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

With large silver buttons. I really liked this look and would have gone with it had I had a 3rd button. I wanted one for the clasp closure. But only had the 2.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Even thought of using this burgundy Jasper gemstone. Wouldn’t this stone be pretty as a cabochon?

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

But my creative vision kept searching for the “right” look. And I found what I was looking for right there in my stash.

Question for you…

Would you have used any of the unused ideas?
