Here’s my back. This doesn’t look all that great to me. I have tried regular thread, embroidery thread and now yarn. So far, this way looks the best.
But… I am wondering about the rest of you. What do you use and how do you do it?
Show me yours. Thanks!!
BTW, here’s the front.

Flowers made from Sharon’s tutorial over at her place.

Donna, you can try nylon thread. The clear kind you can get at a fabric store or some fabric glue.
Hi Donna,
I think part of it depends on whether or not you want it to be removable. Your idea of a barette is great for interchangeable flowers! It might even be a great selling point. As long as the barette is smooth and doesn’t snag the finished piece with a lot of on-and-off.
When I am *sewing* either knitted or crocheted elements together though, I have found that a matching thread (doubled) seems to work the best for small things – like attaching a flower or the parts of a bunny.
In those cases, the yarn seems too thick to be as invisible as I’d like it to look.
I don’t have a flower at the moment to show, but here’s the bunny I assembled I using some ecru quilting thread:

I know you will recognize him
I have some of that nylon thread. Fishing line. I will have to try that as well as doubling my thread.
Yep, I want flowers to be removable. The clip on works great and seems to slide on and off without damaging the “fabric”. (Cute little bunny. Yes, I remember you!! LOL!!)
Thanks!! Both of you.
I’m so dumb!! I thought you were trying to decide between permanently attaching the flower to your work, or using it on the clip for more versatility. I knew you were asking about what method to attach the flower – but didn’t realize you had already determined it would be attached to the clip on (and not the fabric).
Now if you can read that, and not be confused… LOL Sometimes it would be so much easier to “talk” than try to type an explanation!
Love the flowers!!!
I am also looking for other ways to clip it on. What other type tool to connect the flower to?
I understood what you were saying.
Depending on the headband, you could sew a button on the bottom of the flower and slip it through any opening in the headband to attach it.
That might work with my macrame headbands too. Because I want to put flowers on some of them.
Gonna try it. Thanks!!
I sewed a button to the back of one flower. I used the yarn of the center color. To blend it in. It attaches to the “item” perfectly. Going to add buttons to more. Thanks!!
Still looking for other ways where this way won’t work.
Sorry, this isn’t a comment about your current projects but I couldn’t find anywhere to ask a question. I got a pattern for a RAW Crystal Bracelet from here quite a while back, still have the link but when I click it, it says not found:
http://thisyearsdozen.wordpress.com/2008/05/27/how-to-make-right-angle-weave-crystal-bracelet/
I had printed the instructions for this pattern and started making it but have lost the pattern and can’t embellish the sides. You have several similar bracelets showing under the RAW link on the right side of page but no instructions. I have a photo of the bracelet that I started but there is no way to attach it here. I would love to have that pattern again so I can finish my bracelet and also make more of them.
Thanks,
Wanda
Hi Wanda. That RAW bracelet was made in class at toocutebeads and the pattern is now copyrighted. You can check with them for instructions. Thanks for asking.
