This angel dishcloth is so cute. Found the pattern on-line and just had to try it. Don’t know why I bother buying pattern books since it seems there are millions for free.
One thing though about the free ones. Some have errors in the directions and also typos. But they are free, so I have to take the good with the bad and work through the unclear parts.
I used cotton yarn. Lily Sugar ‘n Cream. The smaller size skein. Each angel used up one skein. I covered a 2″ gold metal ring for the hanger.
The pattern calls for tacking down the wings but when I did that, it no longer looked like an angel. Looked like a doll’s dress. So I untacked them. I went around the whole thing with a row of single crochet. It makes it look finished.

Here’s the pattern in case you want to make your own angel. It was easy to make.
I found this site just a few days ago while I was searching for peyote tutorials. Your creations are absolutely breathtaking and these angels are a delightful thing to see first thing in the morning.
Thank you so much. I hope you will become one of my regular readers.
These are so cute! Great job on them.
I think I’ll make one for my grandma. She collects angels.
Thanks for the link to the pattern!
I am making the angel dishcloth. It is soooooo cute. But refastening at stitch #21 just doesn’t come out right. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Susan, I made 2 of these angels and gave both as gifts. Let me find the instructions to see if I can figure it out. I’ll get back to you. (I did not tack down the wings. I didn’t like the look. I let them flap loose.)
Ok…..thanks so much. I think I will agree with you about tacking down the wings.
Will be waiting to hear from you.
Hi Susan,
I am making a lime angel and I am at Step 7.
“Join in 21st st dc across, ch 3, dc in each of the next 34 dc, ch 3, turn.”
This step starts the skirt portion and is centered between the left and right wings. You should have 20 dc’s on the left and 20 dc’s on the right. What’s left is the area to crochet the skirt.
Here is my photo showing where I will begin. Between the stitch markers. I have the wings folded down just for the photo. If your angel looks like this at this point, then you are doing it correctly, per the pattern.

Hi,
I am trying to do the angel dishcloth. i don;t understand what it means to dc in same st as joining, for each row ..could you please help
Hi Donna. (That’s my name too.)
2). Dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in next 11 sc, ch 3, turn.
This is telling you to do two double crochet in each stitch. And since the chain 3 to begin this step becomes a double crochet so to speak, you are just adding a 2nd one to go with it. So you have 2 DC’s in that one stitch. Go under the first chain you made for the chain 3 stitch. (When Round 2 is completed, you should have 24 DC’s.)
It may seen awkward at first, but it will be ok. And will look fine. I too had pause the first time I saw those instructions.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your angel. They are cute, aren’t they? Let me know if you still have questions.
I love this pattern. I made 3 of these for gifts, (shower games). I use them with hand soap dispencers under them and the sink. So cute.
Totally agree!! And fun to make.
Looking at your angel dishcloth but I cannot see the directions. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank You
