Just now getting these pictures posted. I made two more peyote triangle pendants a couple weeks ago.

Cream/orange/bronze seed beads with orange crystals on a beige cord. Gold plated lobster claw clasp.

I took apart the purple pendant and completely remade it. This is the one I did the tutorial on. There was a flaw in the center crystal area and everytime I looked at it, I was reminded of my mistake.

Here is a photo of the remake.

I have one in emerald green started that I need to finish. This is how the sides look before adding the overlay.

I like making these pendants. The fun part is going through my seed bead stash and mixing or matching the crystals.

Go here if you would like to make one of these pendants.

  1. Hi!
I love those new pendants – great color combinations. I’ve been working up a few of them and they are just fabulous. Thanks so much for the instructions! When you do the overlay, do you stitch each row down as you go, or do a short strip of peyote, and stitch the last row to the base?
Thanks again, I just love this design.

  2. Hi there, so glad to hear you are making these pendants. The overlay ends up with 4 rows sitting on top of the bottom four. Like a sandwich. They are connected when you do the sides. Let me know if you still have questions. And thanks for reading my blog.

  3. Hi
I downloaded your tutorial for your triangle pendent
it took me a few times to figure out that you are suppose to add 2 beads after each row on the corners for all the beads.. and I have that done.. my question is. I have not done one of these before this and I am not sure how or what an overlay is. Can you please tell me how to do that. I LOVE the pattern and plan on making more but I hav NO clue as to the overlay process.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial once I got the hang of it it was a breeze.
    Kindest Regards

  4. Hi Sue, the overlay gives the pendant a rounder, finished look along the sides. You could leave it as is and add a bail, no need to do the overlay. It is up to you. I kind of like the rounder look.

So.. that said… start the overlay where the LAST black row joins with the silver rows. Peyote right on TOP of the silver rows. Then you peyote closed the overlay (top) to the bottom along the edges. Glad you are trying to make one. Let me know if you have any other questions.
