Vintage Pearls, It’s All in the Netting

Monday, June 16

Vintage Pearls.

That is the name of the class I took on Sunday, June 15th at toocutebeads.

I jumped at the chance to sign up. They had one spot left. (Only 4 students allowed per class) The lady who processed my payment asked if I knew how to peyote. Yep!! Sure do, was my reply. So you can only guess my excitement knowing this would probably be an easy class.

Well, surprise, surprise!! It wasn’t peyote at all.

It was NETTING. And that stitch kicked my bee-hind, up one side and down the other. I just could not get it. I think I must have said, “I don’t get this” about 4 or 5 times.. until finally I did get it.

Here is my bracelet.

Made with light blue 5mm Swarovski pearls. Seed beads are Toho 11/0 tarnished silver. Clasp, though you probably can’t see it very well, has tiny light blue crystals. Ends of the toggle bar have tiny crystals too. (Go to toocutebeads for instructions on how to make this bracelet and the supplies needed. I believe this clasp is a toocutebeads original.)

I have enough pearls left on the strand to make a second bracelet. Just need to get a double stranded toggle.

Well, that’s it for June classes and not sure if I will take any in July. I didn’t see any that I liked that I hadn’t already taken. So for now, I will just concentrate on perfecting the stitches already learned.

Time to update my Count Up page. I have learned quite a bit since my last post to it.
