Last night I played around with my buttons. I wanted to make something fast and easy to get Button Month rolling. What I thought would be quick to make, a bracelet, turned out to be several hours of make and remake. And more make and remake.

I finally got out my bead design board and mapped out how I wanted the buttons and beads to look. This time it worked when I put them together. I had told myself if it didn’t work that last time, I was going to throw them all in the trash. :D

This is what I was trying to do.

I wanted to make a bracelet out of the aqua and gold buttons using memory wire. I had six buttons. 2 large 1″ and 4 medium 3/4″. Enough for a bracelet and earrings but decided to go with a fuller bracelet and forego the earrings. For fillers I used size 8/0 aqua seed beads and tiny aqua wire swirls. I used two separate 8″ pieces of memory wire.

It is a two strand bracelet but the buttons go through both wires. I struggled getting everything I wanted, the way I wanted them, on both wires. That is when I went to the old tried and true, trusty old design board and got to DESIGNING. LOL!!

This is how it looks. My first project for Button Month.

The best part… I didn’t spend any money making this bracelet. It was all made from found items. Buttons in the button bin. And the rest, I “found” in my beading supplies. :D
