What’s up with this!!??!!
Just returned from running a few errands.
Stopped at my neighborhood Michael’s Crafts to use my 50% off coupon they sent me today via e-mail. Was browsing around, looking at their newest bead selection. Went hunting for the jewelry display case showing off the items to be made in class for April. I have taken jewelry making classes there and wanted to see the latest designs. No case. No jewelry. The classroom was practically empty, hardly anything on the shelves and walls. Only saw Wilton Cake display stuff. Huh??
What happened to all the pretty necklaces and bracelets that used to be there? Asked one of the employees and was told the only class now being offered is cake decorating. All the rest; jewelry, knitting, crochet, One Stroke Painting, etc, etc…gone… bye-bye. I guess those classes weren’t profitable enough. The bottom line must have bottomed out.
Does any of this affect me? Well, yeah!! It does. I had planned on signing up for knitting or crochet as well as One Stroke Painting later this year. Now I have to look elsewhere.
My Learning Calendar could be achanging. We shall see.
Note to Michael’s: Please bring those classes back!!

A few errands, was it?
Oh, of course, they had banked up…
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Why am I not surprised that cake baking is not so tempting just now?
Right, I’m outta here – before I’m booted off.
LOL!! What a comedienne!!
Yay, you sure are!
Try Hobby Lobby if you have one close to you. Or living where you do, I’m sure there are some yarn shops that will teach knitting and crochet. If not, then let me know. I’ll send you my scarf pattern. It’s for beginners.
Looking around…is Quilty still here. LOL!!
Hi Sharon. No Hobby Lobby that I know of in this area. I was looking at a book called Visually Knitting or something like that. Supposed to be very good for beginners. I have your How to Knit a Hat #2. Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it.
Our Joann stores teach beading classes as does the local bead shop. The local bead shop teaches a lot of classes. I’ve never taken any of the classes.
I want to take a cake decorating class. I like the fondant cakes. I shouldn’t eat them, but I’d like to know how to decorate. OK, don’t hit me.
I guess cake decorating is pretty popular. As I was talking to the cashier, a lady was signing up for a class. Beads…those I got covered. I have taken classes at 3 places here. I need somewhere to learn knitting or crochet. I learn better with hands-on.
Definitely hit the yarn shops then…
My mom taught me to cake decorate. She used to teach at JC Pennys and in 4-H.
Probably what I will have to do. I wish our JoAnn’s offered classes. I think years ago, the one near me did, but now I only see them offering sewing machine repair. Man comes in once a week and sets up shop in the store.
Come and visit Down Here. We’ll have a great time and I’ll teach you how to knit, crochet, quilt and all kinds of things!
Can’t wait!!
